Wirral Food Festival
My very good friend Anne Benson asked for volunteers to help out at the Wirral Food Festival. She does a lot of organising for it and being a conscientious friend I felt that I had to go. That and the fact that Anne promised food and drink so I really couldn’t say no.
I ended up serving at the real ale tent and I have to say that I really enjoyed it although it was rather busy. Working behind a bar is a job that I have never quite managed to do in my life even though I have spent a lot of time in front of many bars. There were a lot of thirsty people and the substantial amounts of beer kegs soon emptied.
There was a lovely atmosphere and all the stall holders, volunteers and visitors really made it a wonderful day. I must now endeavour to support the local farmers’ markets in Birmingham.
